No-exam life insurance
Learn which applicants qualify for accelerated review, how it operates, and what happens when you don't meet the requirements.
Today many carriers have accelerated underwriting: for applicants within specific age ranges and coverage limits, they reach a decision using just the application, medication records, driving history and background data, bypassing the paramedical visit. A determination can happen immediately. Your quotes on this site will indicate whether an exam is mandatory, sometimes needed, or not necessary for each option.
What it changes
Skipping the exam doesn't mean skipping the review. Your responses are checked thoroughly, and a policy issued with false information is subject to contest during the initial two years. If new information comes up during the carrier's check, they may request additional testing or records, and you'll get to choose whether to go forward.
Who tends to qualify
Applicants who are under around 60, applying for amounts within the carrier's accelerated limits, with clean health history and no tobacco use within the last year or longer usually qualify. Recent lab work from your doctor can sometimes be substituted for an exam by some carriers.
When an exam is required, it typically involves a 15 to 30-minute session with a paramedical professional at your residence or workplace in the Mission Viejo region, completely free to you. Testing frequently leads to a better classification for applicants in good health, so asking for an exam doesn't have to be a negative.
